Overview of Simulation Operations SpecialistThe College of Nursing at Purdue University Northwest is seeking a Simulation Operations Specialist to join their team.
The primary responsibilities of the Simulation Operations Specialist are to maintain simulation equipment and assist in implementation of simulation-based learning activities throughout the undergraduate and graduate curricula.
This position will provide technical support for all simulation operations, including preparation, maintenance and coordination of repair of computerized low/med/high fidelity simulators, task trainers and related multimedia equipment.
The specialist will also serve as simulator operator by programming, testing and running scenarios with faculty instructors, assuring that the facility and equipment are set up for teaching sessions in the simulation lab as well as the skills, hospital and health assessment labs.
The specialist will also manage open lab sessions and provide limited nursing skill coaching.
Duties and Responsibilities of Simulation Operations Specialist Strategically operates and maintains equipment necessary in nursing simulation as well as support skills, hospital and health assessment labs ensuring that the facility and equipment are set up for skill and teaching sessions.
Assists with open lab management and student skill development.
Prepares and manages for simulation and skills lab:
supplies, moulage, re-stocks supplies, re-sets props, and cleans environment/equipment.
Follows simulation scenario checklists, scripts, and protocols.
Develops technical proficiency with all aspects of the operation, maintenance, support, troubleshooting, repair and replacement needs for all equipment.
Install software and hardware upgrades and maintain functionality of manikin components as directed by manufacturer support.
Manages inventory for simulation supplies and equipment.
Supports Coordinator of the NRC, Coordinator of Simulation-Based Learning and nursing faculty for all simulation and skill development modalities.
Provides communication and feedback to the Coordinators on facility, technology, equipment, operational and other needs identified for overall maintenance and program functioning.
Conducts facility tours and participate in recruiting events.
Manages reference materials for simulation equipment and supplies.
Supports simulation research (data collection, data entry).
Supports the short-, intermediate-, and long-term research and operational goals of the PNW College of Nursing simulation program.

Education of Simulation Operations Specialist Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Experience of Simulation Operations Specialist Two-years' experience in nursing Two-years of experience in a healthcare simulation operations role preferred.
Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist preferred Core Competencies of Simulation Operations Specialist Must be able to apply the concepts of healthcare, simulation, and adult learning theory.
Strong computer/technical skills including working knowledge of MS Office Suite, ability to acquire new skills simulation software.
Ability to assess, troubleshoot and fix equipment failures in a timely fashion.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work well under pressure, set priorities and make critical decisions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Communicate in a positive, professional manner with faculty, students, and participants of the Simulation Centers at either campus.
Ability to react to frequent changes in duties and volume of work.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Collaborates with team members.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
